He received a three-year fellowship to the Catholic University of America, Washington, D. C. in 1932. This fellowship was awarded annually by the [[KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS]] to twenty-five young men from across the United States and Canada after a competitive examination. Enzler received his Ph.D in sociology from the Catholic University of America in 1935. He later served on the faculty of the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
