	DUBUQUE MAGIC CLUB. The second meeting of the Dubuque Magic Club was held on March 5, 1949 at [[RADIO]] station KDTH. Both men and women, novice and accomplished magicians, interested in learning magic were asked to attend and become charter members. Members had to be at least 18 years of age. Those interested in card tricks were asked to bring a deck of cards. (1)		DUBUQUE MAGIC CLUB. The second meeting of the Dubuque Magic Club was held on March 5, 1949 at [[RADIO]] station KDTH. 	Among those forming the club was [[BYRNE, Robert\|Robert BYRNE]]. Upon his death, members of the club held a wand-breaking ceremony honoring his memory. (2)		The club prospered and performed many programs, but declined around 1977 with the death or moving away of key members. One who remained was Clarence Arthofer, president of the Dubuque chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, who gave free shows to civic groups and nursing home residents. Interest resumed with the popularity of nationally recognized magicians. (2)

			Among those forming the club was [[BYRNE, Robert\|Robert BYRNE]]. Upon his death, members of the club held a wand-breaking ceremony honoring his memory. (3)
