	DAN DONOVAN TOURNAMENT. One of the longest lasting basketball tournaments in the United States. The annual tournament, sponsored by the [[UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE]] and played in McCormick Gymnasium, was named for Dan Donovan, a former outstanding athlete at the University of Dubuque. As a high school student, Donovan was named one of the top one hundred high school basketball players in the country. In college he led the team in scoring and assists, played second base on the varsity baseball team and was voted Freshman Athlete of the Year for outstanding athletic and academic achievements.
