Unusually large, it attracted great attention in the railroad yard. One side was labeled "Tom Connolly. Carriage Builder. Dubuque." The other side read "Chicago, St. Paul and Kansas Railroad." There was no clue to the contents.		CONNOLLY CARRIAGE MANUFACTORY. On May 9, 1889, the ''Portland Oregonian'' published an article on a "new fangled car." Unusually large, it attracted great attention in the railroad yard. One side was labeled "Tom Connolly. Carriage Builder. Dubuque." The other side read "Chicago, St. Paul and Kansas Railroad." There was no clue to the contents.

	One person finally forced the door open and discovered inside that the car was loaded with landaus, coupes, and buggies. The hinged end made it easy to load and unload the rail car. With all the posts and braces on the outside, nothing was left inside to scratch the cargo. This was the first car of its kind ever seen.
