(1) In 1890 he was one of three Dubuque merchants chosen to represent Dubuque jobbers in Des Moines before a senate committee on railroads. MACLAY & CO.]] was first listed in city directories in 1883. (1) In 1887 Conchar was one of the individuals singled out for praise in raising funds for the aid of residents of Earlville after a major fire. (2) In 1890 he was one of three Dubuque merchants chosen to represent Dubuque jobbers in Des Moines before a senate committee on railroads. (3)

	In 1892 Conchar was one of five stockholders in the Oliver Typewriter Company appointed to arrange for the preparation of articles of incorporation. (3) Conchar was one of the organizers and served as the first president of the [[DUBUQUE CLUB]] and was also active in organizing the [[DUBUQUE SHIPPERS' ASSOCIATION]].		In 1892 Conchar was one of five stockholders in the Oliver Typewriter Company appointed to arrange for the preparation of articles of incorporation. (4) Conchar was one of the organizers and served as the first president of the [[DUBUQUE CLUB]] and was also active in organizing the [[DUBUQUE SHIPPERS' ASSOCIATION]].
