	BURCH, James Merrill. (Necedah, WI, Jan. 18, 1861--Dubuque, IA, June 30, 1927). Burch, the son of [[BURCH, George Benjamin\|George Benjamin BURCH]], graduated from Harvard University in 1883 and returned to Necedah where he served a term as mayor in 1899. (1) He became credit manager of [[FARLEY AND LOETSCHER MANUFACTURING COMPANY]] in 1900 and was later promoted to treasurer and then president. He held this office the remainder of his life. (2) He was also president of Loetscher-Burch Manufacturing Company in Des Moines, president of Roberts Sash and Door in Chicago, vice-president of the Consolidated National Bank, treasurer of the [[KEY CITY GAS COMPANY]], director of the [[MIDWEST LUMBER COMPANY]] in Dubuque, and vice-president of Farley-Loetscher Company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
