-Boland graduated cum laude from [[LORAS COLLEGE]] and then studied for two years at the Gregorian University in Rome. When [[WORLD WAR II]] began he joined the Air Corps and flew several combat missions over Germany. With experience in the [[LORAS PLAYERS]], he did graduate work at the University of Iowa and the Catholic University of America.  He worked to New York in 1950 working as an actor, director, and writer.  At the time his play was being presented, he also broadcast a regular daily program from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange which was carried by 125 radio stations in the United States and Canada.

(2) In 1935 as a sophomore at [[COLUMBIA COLLEGE]], it was announced that Boland had won second place in a contest for the best translation of an epode by Horace. The contest had been held when he was a freshman. (3) He was also a member of the Columbia Players. In 1935 he had the leading role in "Within These Walls" by Marcus L. Bach. (4) He had a leading role in the 1937 production of "The Mountain," also by Bach. (4) Boland graduated cum laude from [[LORAS COLLEGE]] and then studied for two years at the Gregorian University in Rome.
