	ANDRES, Henry M. (Schleswig-Holstein, Mar. 23, 1833--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 31, 1895). A manufacturer of fine cigars and dealer in all kinds of tobacco and pipes, Andres learned his business in Germany. (1) He came to America in 1857 and settled in Dubuque on December 1, 1857. Andres left the city a few years later and moved to Missouri. During the [[CIVIL WAR]], he was in the service, and was a member of the St. Charles, (Mo) CO. B.Krekeus Battery U. S. R. C. NO. INF. (2) He did not return to Dubuque until after the war.
